C reactive protein concentrations in cystic fibrosis.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Serum concentrations of C reactive protein were measured in a cross sectional study of 36 patients with cystic fibrosis and correlated with clinical and radiological assessments. C reactive protein concentration was highly correlated with the Shwachman clinical evaluation score, forced vital capacity as a percentage of the predicted value, and the Chrispin-Norman x ray score. C reactive protein may be a useful objective index of severity of disease in patients with cystic fibrosis.

Mutation and Rare Polymorphisms Insight in Exons 7 and 20 of CFTR Gene in Non-Caucasian Cystic Fibrosis Patients
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common severe autosomal recessive disorder caused by a wide spectrum of mutations in the gene encoding for the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein. The frequencies, types and distributions of mutations vary widely between different populations and ethnic groups. The aim of this study was to perform a comprehensive analysis of the C...

Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a common autosomal recessive disorder that affects many body systems and is produced by mutations in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. CF is also the most frequently inherited disorder in the West. The aim of this study was to detect the mutations in the CFTR gene in two Iranian families with CF. Methods: After DNA extractio...
متن کاملPlasma tumour necrosis factor alpha in cystic fibrosis.
Plasma tumour necrosis factor alpha (alpha) concentration is increased in acute Gram negative sepsis, but the effect of chronic infection on plasma concentrations is unknown. A study was carried out in patients with cystic fibrosis to determine the effect of chronic lung infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa on the plasma concentration of tumour necrosis factor and two other indicators of the i...

These mutations that correlate with different phenotypes, vary in their frequency and distribution in different populations. In this study missense mutation R117H that associated with the different clinical symptoms wa...
متن کاملCoincidence of Cystic Fibrosis in Mother and her Child Related to Infertility
Cystic fibrosis (CF), the most common life-shortening, hereditary disease in whites, manifests itself principally in childhood. Patients presenting with CF as adults appear to be different when compared to patients diagnosed with CF during childhood. Often these patients have been previously diagnosed with asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema. We present a case of a woman diagnosed with CF a...
